Belt drive operators, while missing the chatter of the chain, offer less noise and less wear on the opener’s internal parts. Direct drive openers cut out the need for a belt or chain. Connecting straight to the torsion spring shaft, direct drive openers can be mounted on either side of the garage door. Leaving you with less noise and more head room.
